Our client a leading private company on Long Island is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its team. The company offers a stable work environment, excellent benefits, and an opportunity for advancement.

Participate in the month-end close process
Reviews and/or prepares account reconciliations, monthly journal entries, and other control processes as assigned
Performs and leads audit efforts as part of monthly, quarterly, and yearly audit and review requirements
Research accounting policies/regulatory rules around new products and/or business initiatives
Monitors performance of various business results (including variance analyses)
Maintains and improves the controls around financial reporting
Assists with the implementation of new tools and systems
Helps to improve current accounting processes through process improvement and/or automation
Develops and maintains excellent relationships with colleagues across business departments to foster an effective cross-functional working environment and collaborative spirit
Mentor, train, and develop junior team members

All other duties as assigned



Requirements:

4 year Accounting Degree
Strong MS Excel skills
1+ year accounting experience
